Welcome To The
Pillar Of Zion Church International
The Pillar of Zion Church International began as a house fellowship when the Lord laid a burden upon His servant, Evangelist Akwasi Awuah. Initially, the fellowship gathered at the home of Brother Kofi, also known as "Amen and Amen," for a period of one month. Following this, they moved to the unfinished building of Christ the Way Church for watch-night services. However, they were asked to vacate those premises by the church's authority. Subsequently, the Lord opened a door for them at an elementary school, commonly referred to as “kɔkɔ bo School.” This move took place on September 22, 2002, with a total membership of eleven people.
The fellowship, driven by a strong divine burden, began to grow and formally adopted the name Mountain Zion Church. They started conducting Sunday services alongside other church activities. When Evangelist Akwasi Awuah sought to register the church, it was discovered that the name "Mountain Zion Church" was already in use, according to the Registrar General’s Department of Ghana. After a period of prayer and waiting upon the Lord, the name "Pillar of Zion Church" was divinely inspired and subsequently adopted. The church was officially registered under this name on May 28, 2007. Today, the Pillar of Zion Church International stands as a testament to the faith and perseverance of its founder and congregation, continuing its mission under the leadership of Evangelist Akwasi Awuah. The church has grown significantly and now boasts two hundred and thirty-six (236) branches both at home and abroad. Some of these branches are located in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Canada, Egypt, Italy, and other countries.
